INTERSCHUTZ 2026: Türkiye a key growth market for firefighting, rescue and security technology

INTERSCHUTZ 2026: Türkiye a key growth market for firefighting, rescue and security technology
Hannover, Germany. When international experts in fire protection, rescue services and civil protection gather at INTERSCHUTZ from 1 to 6 June 2026 in Hanover, the focus will not only be on cutting-edge technology and global innovation, but also on current challenges in Europe and worldwide under the headline “Turning point in civil protection”. In this context, Türkiye is also facing major tasks, given increasing natural disasters, growing urbanisation, an active construction sector, new industrial plants and increasingly strict fire safety and building regulations.
INTERSCHUTZ acts as a provider of solutions: the program features practical live demonstrations, international specialist conferences – including the first FEU Leadership Conference of the Federation of European Fire Officers – a variety of networking events for emergency services and decision-makers from around the world, and a diverse supporting program. In addition to the exhibitor stands, these elements highlight the breadth, capabilities and knowledge transfer of the entire sector – and thus its orientation toward solutions for a safer tomorrow.
“In addition to the established themes of firefighting and rescue services, INTERSCHUTZ 2026 places the much-cited ‘turning point in civil protection’ at its center – a topic that is occupying Europe intensively,” says Hendrik Rawe, Director INTERSCHUTZ, LIGNA, parts2clean and SurfaceTechnology GERMANY at Deutsche Messe AG. “All actors in this field face challenges that – beyond the deployment of state-of-the-art technology – require new interdisciplinary and cross-border cooperation, shared strategies and a common understanding and approach. As the leading trade fair, INTERSCHUTZ is the ideal platform to bring together decision-makers from all disciplines and to shape the future in the spirit of the INTERSCHUTZ motto ‘Safeguarding tomorrow’.”
Türkiye aims for a global role – strong growth in the domestic market
At INTERSCHUTZ 2026, Türkiye will present itself as a key player – both as a growth market for firefighting, rescue and security technology and with around three dozen exhibitors confidently aspiring to a global role. 34 Turkish companies took part in INTERSCHUTZ 2022. As of today, 41 Turkish companies are registered for this year’s trade fair. They show their latest products and innovations on more than 3,500 sqm.
According to the analysis by Deep Market Insights, the Turkish market for fire protection equipment is valued at USD 358.58 million in 2024 and is expected to reach USD 569.04 million by 2033. For the period 2025 to 2033, the Turkish market is forecast to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.27 per cent. In 2024, the fire detection segment accounted for the largest share of the market volume within the solutions offered. Fire extinguishers are expected to remain the most important growth driver within these solutions and to show the highest CAGR during the forecast period.
A target market analysis published by Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI) in August 2024 likewise notes that the importance of security infrastructure is steadily increasing in Turkish society: due to stringent quality standards, Türkiye relies on international cooperation. German products “Made in Germany” enjoy a strong reputation in Türkiye, further strengthening market opportunities for German companies. At the same time, Türkiye has also positioned itself as an important exporter on the supply side for several years. At INTERSCHUTZ 2026, Turkish companies such as Volkan – a systems provider of complex special vehicles – and Celiksan – an international component supplier for fire trucks – will demonstrate how firefighting, rescue and security technology from Türkiye enriches global markets with valuable solutions.
Because Türkiye’s market for firefighting and rescue equipment is currently closely intertwined with a dynamic security and defence industry, the country is also reducing its dependence on imports in security-relevant areas and investing in its own technology platforms – from armoured police and special-purpose vehicles to highly integrated electronic systems. For European manufacturers, the Turkish market therefore offers both opportunities and challenges.
While tighter regulations, smart-city projects and new industrial facilities in Türkiye drive demand for high-quality equipment and networked systems, an increasing number of Turkish suppliers are advancing into export markets that have long been dominated by European players.
At INTERSCHUTZ 2026, this dual role will become visible when Turkish companies appear both as ambitious exporters and as potential partners for localisation and joint-venture models.
Premiere of FEU leadership conference at INTERSCHUTZ 2026
With the first FEU Leadership Conference during INTERSCHUTZ 2026 in Hanover, the Federation of European Fire Officers aims to bring together European fire chiefs in a premiere conference format on 3 and 4 June 2026. According to the organisation, more than 300 leaders from fire and civil protection agencies across Europe, as well as from international partner countries, are expected to attend. Like INTERSCHUTZ itself, the event will be held under the theme “Safeguarding Tomorrow” and aims to create a leading European strategic platform for those shaping the future of European fire services and civil protection.
In light of a convergence of pressures – including hybrid threats, geopolitical instability, digital vulnerabilities, extreme climate events, and rising expectations from citizens – the need for clear-headed, future-oriented leadership has never been greater.
Over the two conference days, the FEU will bring together senior representatives from the European Commission, NATO, national fire and civil protection agencies, and international fire service leaders from the United States, Australia, Singapore, and other partner countries to explore how European emergency services must evolve to remain capable, resilient, and strategically aligned in an increasingly disruptive world.
